Minimum requirements
Becoming a driver is easier than you think
The minimum requirement is 21 years of age and at least 1 year holding a full UK driving licence. You will need a Taxi or Private Hire driver badge from your local council — for example, an Argyll and Bute badge currently costs only £133 for 3 years.

- Current MOT (no more than 6 months old) if required
- Private hire or public hire insurance certificate
- Current council test certificate
